Jackson—The Mississippi Department of Employment Security (MDES) announced today, that the Kemper County WIN Job Center will stop providing services June 23, 2014, because the Mississippi Power Kemper County construction project is now fully staffed.
This office was established through an agreement with MDES and Mississippi Power during the construction of Mississippi Power’s energy facility located in Kemper County. Through this agreement, MDES provided on-site job referral and placement services for Mississippi Power. The need for this office has been fulfilled due to the progression of construction and hiring activities at the Kemper County energy facility.
MDES will continue to provide services to people looking for good jobs and to businesses looking for qualified workers. MDES services are available 24 hours a day on the agency website at mdes.ms.gov. Mississippians looking for jobs and employers can call the MDES toll-free number at 888-844-3577 on weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm. In addition, they can visit any open WIN Job Center for services.
