Opportunities for Older Mississippians 

MDES administers the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) in our state. 

This program is a community service and work-based job training program for older Americans. Serving as a bridge to unsubsidized employment, SCSEP provides training to low-income, unemployed seniors. Participants gain work experience while providing community service in a wide range of non-profit and public facilities, including schools, hospitals, day-care centers, and senior centers.

Authorized by the Older Americans Act, participants also have access to employment assistance through our WIN Job Centers.
