The Governor’s Job Fair Network will host the Spring Southern Region Military & Civilian Job Fair on April 10, 2012 at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum & Convention Center in Biloxi. The expo is free and open to the public.

More than 75 companies, educational organizations, training providers and community outreach programs will be on hand to connect with people looking for jobs. Businesses who have positions to fill will accept resumes and conduct on-site interviews, and educational and training institutions will provide information on their services. More than 2,500 attended last year’s job fair.

“I encourage all Mississippians who are seeking employment to attend this great event,” Gov. Phil Bryant said. “Job seekers should bring copies of their résumés and come prepared for a potential interview with one of the many employers who have real positions to fill.”

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is partnering with The Governor’s Job Fair Network to help market the event to veterans.

“We are thrilled to be a partner with the Governor's Job Fair Network of Mississippi, the Coast Chamber and the Mississippi Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve on the upcoming hiring fair for veterans and military spouses,” said Lt. Col. (Ret.) Kevin Schmiegel, founder and executive director of the U.S. Chamber’s Hiring Our Heroes program, and a 20-year Marine veteran. “Working together, we won’t be satisfied until we move the needle on the staggering rates of unemployment facing post 9-11 veterans and military spouses.”
