Southaven, MS — More categories of employers than ever have signed up for The Mid-South Area Job Fair in Southaven MS, set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, August 10. It will be at the Southaven Arena, 7360 Hwy 51 N in Desoto County. The annual Governor’s Job Fair is open to the public without charge and provides participants the opportunity to meet with employers and discuss potential job opportunities.

Adam Todd, director of the Governor’s Job Fair Network stated, “employers are still calling wanting to know if booth space is available and as always at this fair, on- the-spot hires have always been high. We anticipate no change in this hiring process,” said Todd.

Some valuable tips for people looking to be hired: Dress for success, bring plenty of resumes, be prepared for on-site interviews, come with a positive attitude, and make arrangements for child care before attending the job fair.

“Even if you’re not looking for a job right now, a job fair is a great place to find out what kind of jobs are out there and what kind of credentials you’d need to qualify,” said Todd.

For employers: Registration is online or by phone. First-time companies should make plans to call as soon as possible because booth space is quickly filling up.

Businesses can register online at www.jobsfairs.ms.gov where more information is available or contact Adam Todd at 601-321-6154.
