Industry Projections

Industry Projections

Industry Employment Projections show the expected future number of workers to be employed in the different industries in the labor market during a given period. An industry can be described as a group of establishments that produce similar products or provide similar services. A given industry, or even a particular establishment in that industry, might have workers in several different occupations or jobs.

Long-term projections cover a ten-year period and are updated every two years at the statewide level.  Substate long-term projections are updated on a two-year schedule during the year following the statewide updates.

Short-term projections cover a two-year period, are updated every year, and provided at the state level only. Confidentiality rules prevent the release of some data.
