VALID FOR 5 YEARS
MDES unemployment debit cards are valid for 5 years. Please keep your card until it expires; even if you are not currently filing.
Debit cards for UI Benefits issued on or after Monday, May 23, 2022, will have a new look. If you have a debit card with the old design, please keep it until it has expired.

Direct Deposit
A User ID and password are required to select direct deposit.
To create an Online Claimant User ID, click here.
To receive your benefit payment by direct deposit to your checking account, follow the instructions below.
Click here to login to Claimant services and follow the instructions below.
Once you are logged in:
» select your name at the top of screen
» then select payment options
» and then select direct deposit
elect the Benefits Maintenance tab,
» then select the Update Claimant Profile tab,
» and then select Payment Option.
You will be prompted to enter your checking account information.
You must upload load items listed below by selecting the direct deposit link.
- Front and back of a voided check, or bank document which must include your name, address, bank name, accounting number and routing number; and
- Driver License or State Issued Identification Card
Once the voided check or bank document been verified, your direct deposit request will be processed.
